TitleLetter from Sir Arthur William Hill to H.H.[Hsen Hsu] Hu, from Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
DescriptionIn reply to Hu's letter of 28 June [see letter folio 149/162], Hill explains that he had intended to send the set of KEW BULLETIN as arranged, but as Nanking [Nanjing] might have been in the disturbed area at the time, he decided to delay sending them. As matters now seem to be quieter, he will have the books despatched as soon as possible, although as several members of staff are on leave it may not be for a few weeks. They have seen a copy of ICONES PLANTARUM SINICARUM and a short notice on it has been posted in KEW BULLETIN. He comments that Sinojackia xylocarpa is an interesting addition to the Styracaceae. He has not yet received Hu's paper on the forest flora of South eastern China.
