AdminHistorySt Mary's was consecrated on the 21st July 1830 as a chapel-of-ease to Sheffield Parish Church (Sheffield Cathedral). It became a seperate parish in 1848. St Mary was united with St Simon c. 1946, then St Matthias c.1951. Finally it united in 1973 with St Barnabas, Highfield, with St Barnabas becoming the Parish Church. St Mary remained open but ceased to be used for marriages after June 1978. It was re-licenced for marriages in 1979. St Mary is in the Ecclesall Deanery.
