TitleWilliam Wilberforce to Samuel Roberts, written from Herstmonceux, near Battle, Sussex (own hand)
DescriptionWhen writing the other day had forgotten to reply about the alteration in the course of the Sheffield post. Sorry he did not write to any of those who signed the memorial. Gave it to Mr Freeling [Secretary, GPO] who was not very hopeful. Wilberforce considers “so great a town as Sheffield” deserves a convenient post service and the increased revenue would make the charge worth while to the Post Office.
