TitleWilliam Wilberforce to Samuel Roberts, written from London (own hand)
Description[First part of letter has been torn away]. Has been in ill-health so hopes Samuel Roberts will not believe implicitly reports of his speeches in the papers. Is considering the Orders in Council and the East India Company’s charter. Re Sheffield Resolutions, he feels there are several material points of fact about the Orders in Council, though he is not “a warm friend to those measures; or indeed a friend at all”. Postscript: is sick at heart at the prospect of a war with America. 3 pages (1 written on cover).
