AdminHistoryThe National Association of Local Government Officers (NALGO) was a British trade union formed in 1905 to represent local government workers. It changed its name in 1952 to the National and Local Government Officers' Association but retained the acronym, NALGO.

NALGO merged with NUPE (the National Union of Public Employees) and COHSE (the Confederation of Health Service Employees) in 1993 to form UNISON.

The South Yorkshire County branch of NALGO represented officers of South Yorkshire County Council between 1974 - 1986.
