DescriptionThe big sheet has notes on the reverse regarding the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Edward meeting the teams and the match, including the two tries scored by A J M Lawson. It has two sections cut from it comprising information about Scotland's players and replacements. It is accompanied by:
- Annotated programme signed by Bill McLaren, which includes an article by McLaren entitled 'Each on a narrow squeak'.
- Notes, including an introduction to and description of the match and score.
- Draft match report.
- Annotated schedule for the visit of the Queen.
- Account of McLaren's expenses.
- Cuttings from The Scotsman, The Sunday Express, The Daily Telegraph and other unidentified newspapers.
- Letter from John Law to Bill [McLaren] asking him to include information about arrangements at Murrayfield in his pre-match coverage, dated 19 February 1976.

The match was part of the Five Nations Championship. The score was Scotland 22 - England 12. The big sheet records:
