DescriptionThe big sheet has three large sections cut from it, including the extra information about all of Ireland's team and replacements, and brief notes on the reverse. It is accompanied by notes, including an introduction to and description of the game, a programme and cuttings from the Glasgow Herald, The Scotsman, The Sunday Post, the Evening Press, The Sunday Tribune, The Sunday Independent and other unidentified newspapers concerning the 2 February 1985 match, Australia's tour of the UK and Ireland in 1984 and the problems Tony Ward was having with Ireland's rugby team. One of the cuttings is a photocopy with a brief letter from H[?] Meagher[?] on the reverse, dated 5 November 1984. The bundle also includes a letter from L. W. Jenkinson to Mr McLaren regarding the first use of a 'place-kick to find touch' by Bob Challis, which is noted on the big sheet.

This match was part of the Five Nations Championship. The score was Scotland 15 - 18 Ireland. The big sheet records:
