TitleLetter from Charles Darwin, Devonport, to John Stevens Henslow
DescriptionThe sailing date is fixed for the end of month and the 'Beagle' has been fitted out and looks "beautiful". Darwin details instructions and the planned route although hopes the voyage will not exceed four years. The quarters are very confined and he thinks Jenyns was wise in not coming, as if Darwin were longer out of college and some years older he could have never endured it.
