DescriptionDarwin is sending two more cargos to Henslow, one containing fossil remains including a Megatherium head and the skeleton of an animal. He also mentions plants and shells he has sent and new ones found. He discusses the geological observations he has made and asks for help in understanding cleavage and planes of deposition. He believes he has found a new species of ostrich and cites the differences in size, colour, nidification, and geographical distribution to the Struthio Rhea.
