AdminHistory | William Higgins Coleman (1812 - 1863) was born in 1812, son of John and Constantia Coleman, and was baptised in Finsbury, London. He was educated as at St John's College, Cambridge, graduating in 1836, and awarded an M.A in 1838. He was later ordained deacon and priest by the Bishop of Lincoln. He sometimes worked as a master at The Grammar School at Ashby-de-la-Zouch. He was also a master at the Grammar School of Christ's Hospital, Hertford. Between 1840 and 1847, he was involved in the preparation of the 'Flora Hertfordiensis' (Plants of Hertford) with the Rev. R H Webb. He died on 12 September 1863 at Burton on Trent. |
