DescriptionCorrespondence of E.M. Holmes and individuals with the surname beginning with D. Details of the author, number of letters, place of writing and dates are listed below:

- DAVEY, F.H. (5 letters and 2 postcards): Perramwell Station, Cornwall, 1902
1) Penzance, 09 February 1902
Sends index of all the papers relating to Holmes's subject. Can offer all these for 10/-. John Rolf's M.S.S. preserved by Penzance library. [Missing]

2) Perramwell Station, 18 July 1902
Asks for Holmes's article on cryptogamic matter for the Cornwall volume of the 'Victoria Home Counties History'.

3) Perramwell Station, 07 August 1902
Suggests trying the Penzance Library's Secretary for Dr Rolf's 'MS Flora', but doubtful. Notes on "peculiar fennel" at Maenporth and other species, 'Primula elatior' and 'Mercurialis ambegia'.

4) Perramwell Station, 08 December 1902
Pasting a copy of the Fungi Section of Rolf's 'MS Flora' by West Cornwall.

5) Perramwell Station, 10 December 1902
Mount Edgecombe is included in his "tentative list" as it is on the Cornish side. Gives points in response to Holmes's questions: Suggests that Holmes makes his list of marine algae as complete as possible, and for the nomenclature for the Victoria History to be quite up to date; to give districts rather than specific sites for rarities (on account of vandals); lastly, there is no need for more than a general reference to the botanists concerned. Does not feel that he can offer any other criticisms to Holmes as he considers Holmes to be 'master' in botany.

6) Perramwell Station, 20 December 1902
Letter and marine Algae manuscript received. Corrected any spelling mistakes in relation to local names and rearranged the sequence of localities. Suggests excluding widely distributed species, to save space, as Mr Doubleday has requested that botanical matter by condensed as much as possible. Mr Rogers [done?] 'the Rub', but everything else by Davey.

7) Rough list of articles and [?], with dates [Missing]

8 and 9) Postcards - Perramwell Station., 29 October 1902 and 04 November 1902
Rolf's list of things: to be copied and sent to Holmes.
