TitleRichard Pulteney, Leicester, to Sir William Watson
DescriptionDraft letter:
Thanks for previous letter and for attention Watson has paid to his affairs with the General. He supposes that the Oxford affair is over and that he was not qualified to be a candidate. He has not yet found a proper person to take on his shop. He wishes to be away as his situation in very irksome. He is kept busy, as measles is much in the town.

Sends grateful acknowledgements to Mrs M. [Montagu]. Fears the General should think he is not paying attention enough to the civility he proposes to show him.

Has recently read F. Sauvages' Nosologia methodica, an extraordinary attempt to class diseases into a regular system as well as a work of Morgagni, "a vast fund for improvement in practical Medicine…" Regrets seeing in the "publick papers" an account of the death of Lord Willoughby de Parham and feels low spirited at the ill luck of losing three noble patrons in one year.
