ActivityBD. FLS 1791. Minister at Stamford, Lincolnshire, 1767; Ipswich, Suffolk, 1770-1772; Mill Hill Chapel, Leeds, 1773-1808. He was responsible for the natural history section of the "Annual Review", and contributed botanical articles to Abraham Rees's "Cyclopaedia", completing the entries for B and C. Contributed to Smith and Sowerby's "English Botany"(1790-1799). Assisted William Withering in the second edition of "Botanical Arrangements of the Vegetables in Great Britain" (1787–92).
