Activity | FRS 1787. FLS 1790. Apprenticed to Richard Hayles, surgeon of Cambridge, in 1758, and after attending the lectures of William and John Hunter, he practised successfully in Bury St Edmunds, becoming a member of the Company of Surgeons in 1785 and of the College of Surgeons in 1800.
Appointed Bath king of arms in 1771. Married Mary née Hanson (1745-1830), 1 September 1774, two sons and a daughter. Succeeded his brother, Sir John Cullum, sixth baronet (1733-1785), as seventh baronet in October 1785, and gave up the serious practice of medicine. Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, and the Horticultural Society. |
