AdminHistoryCertificates of Recommendations are a part of of the election process of individuals becoming Fellows, Associates or Foreign Members of the Linnean Society. In order for an individual to apply, a form is filled out and other fellows of the Society are invited to add their names to the form of an individual wishing to apply if they support the application. The individual applications are then discussed at General Meetings and a decision made.
DescriptionCertificates of Recommendation for individuals elected as Fellows, Associates, and Foreign Members of the Linnean Society. Details recorded often include name, title, abode, subject area, date of proposal for election, date of election, and names of Fellows who recommended the individual. Sometimes also includes a Contribution Form which states that the individual agrees to pay the membership fees.
