Description
Correspondence, 1934, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1957-60, 1963, 1964, 1967-69, 1973, concerning the granting of a licence to Lady Foreman making the licence of 1922 for each user of her property non-revocable (1934); the granting of a licence to make an exit in the garage of 41 to gain access to 25 Hyde Park Gate (1947); a request for the renewal of the lease and an offer to purchase the freehold, both declined (1950, 1952); lengthy negotiations over attempts by the Commission to obtain possession of 41 from Mr. A.L.E. Dutry on the expiry of the lease, Mr. Dutry's claim of protection under the Landlord and Tenant Act, 1954; the decision to take legal action against Mr. Dutry after obtaining Counsel's Opinion; Counsel's subsequent Opinion on whether Mr. Dutry's user of the premises had been lawful; Mr. Dutry's final vacation of the premises; the sale of 41 and 40 to Mr. J.M. Lawton; plans to build a five storey and subsequently a nine storey block of flats (including at 25 Hyde Park Gate) and the lodging of objections to both schemes; the granting of a licence to Wilverley Estates Ltd. for redevelopment of the site.
