Description | Copy of a letter from Bowring to General Grey giving an update on building works, changes required to the building, garden and commenting on the severe fire risks highlighted in Braidwood's report ( see H/1/C/238). He suggests the erection of a fireproof brick gallery. Lists the items which it is proposed should be housed in the museum - trade collection, patent models, educational museum, animal produce museum and those parts of the Marlborough House Collection that could be replaced in the event of loss by fire. |
