| Description | Originally the Youth and Adult Education Sub-committee of Sheffield City Education Committee. Re-designated the District Youth and Community Sub-committee at local government reorganisation in 1973. The first meeting of the redesignated sub-committee met in Dec 1973. From 1974, the sub-committee became simply the Community Education sub-committee. The Sub-committee was concerned with district evening centres, youth clubs, adult education, and community organisations. |
