AccessConditionsRegisters of Applications to Display Advertisements, Aug 1948 - Dec 1977 (CA773/1/1-5) and Registers of Development Applications, Jun 1948 - Dec 1974 (CA 773/2/1-47) were returned to the Planning Department in October 2011. Requests to access these items should made to Sheffield City Council's Development Services (Planning and Development) section, Howden House.

The Planning Department also holds scans of the later registers which were retained at Sheffield Archives as well as access to a searchable database of planning applications so it is often worth contacting the Planning Department in the first instance for inquiries relating to specific planning applications from 1948 onwards (especially if the precise date / planning application number is not known).
