AdminHistory | On the 30 Sep 1862 Canon Fisher, Rector of St. Marie's, acquired the redundant Independent Methodist chapel in Lee Croft at a cost of £1,000. The building was altered and re-fitted for £280.00 and was opened on Sunday, January 11th 1863, under the title of St. William's, as a 400-seating chapel of ease to St. Marie's. On 19 Jan 1863, the Notre Dame nuns took charge of the newly-established St. William's schools in Lee Croft.
