AdminHistory | The Stand House Council School was recognised as a Public Elementary School from the 4th May 1931 to provide accommodation for not more than 480 Junior Mixed and Infant children. Soon after the school opened an annexe was opened in a nearby Church to accommodate infants but this tenancy was given up in Jun 1937. Since the school opened a nursery class has been started and the school has undergone remodelling and exterior and interior painting has been carried out, especially in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. In the late 1960’s new infant classroom units were opened and remodelling also undertaken. In 1971-1972 an additional nursery class was opened at Stand House School. School closed Aug 1992. |
