AdminHistorySt Barnabas schools in Cecil Road were opened (as National Schools) in March 1873. The Boys’ School initially had an intake of infants, as an infants mistress had not been appointed. The Infants’ school opened in July 1873, when the infants mistress commenced duty. The Boys’ and Girls’ schools were united into a Senior Mixed School in June 1884. The Senior Mixed School and the Infants Schools were merged in March 1939 and became a Junior (Mixed) and Infants School in September 1948. The School closed in July 1978.
