TitleOwler Lane Junior and Secondary School, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield
AdminHistoryOwler Lane School was opened on 13th May 1889 and comprised three departments, boys, girls, and infants. In 1899 the school changed, still housing three departments but now they were Senior Mixed, Junior Mixed and an Infant department. The departments were separated again in 1911 and a part of the junior girls’ department was taught in temporary accommodation until a new wing had been finished. On the completion of this wing the separation of the departments took place and all the girls were housed in the new premises.

In 1927, the Senior Mixed department became the Intermediate department. In 1945, its name changed to Owler Lane Secondary. However, in 1928, the Boys’ and Girls’ schools were reorganised, and a new Senior Mixed department was opened there. This later became Owler Lane Secondary East. By 1943 there were three schools at Owler Lane, namely Intermediate, Mixed and Junior Mixed.

The school held an evening class from 1892 until 1948, also a manual centre from 1902 until 1945.

The school was later a nursery first school and the secondary schools were taken over as Earl Marshal Campus.
