TitleBrightside Junior and Nursery Infant School / Brightside County School, Jenkin Road
AdminHistoryThe school was opened in 1878 in the Congregational School room at Brightside as “Brightside Temporary Board School”. In 1880 a new school was opened in Jenkin Road as “Sheffield Brightside Mixed Board School”, taking pupils from Lower Wincobank School which had closed.

Between 1882 and 1941 the boys’ and girls’ departments were separate. In 1946 a nursery class was opened. All three departments amalgamated in 1957 to become “Brightside Junior and Nursery Infant School”. The school became a First school in 1969.
