TitleGrange Colliery (including Bradgate Drift)
AdminHistoryGrange Colliery was situated three miles from Thorncliffe. It was originally sunk in 1845 and purchased from G. W. Chambers in 1890.

Sixty beehive coke ovens were installed on the site.

in 1921 the colliery was closed and the entire plant scrapped. New plant was installed and the colliery re-opened in 1927.

In the mid-1920s a drift was driven at Hudson's Rough. In 1922 Bradgate No.1 Drift was put down to the Silkstone seam from a quarry at Bradgate.
