| Description | The firm of Martin Hall and Co was established in 1856 as silver dessert and fruit knife manufacturers, in premises soon to be named Shrewsbury Works. Both the families of Martin and Hall had been active in the cutlery trade for many years previously.
Martin Hall and Co. was acquired by Frank Cobb around 1932 and Cobbs moved into the Shrewsbury Works. They continue to trade under the name Martin Hall in New Zealand until the 1970s. |
