AcquisitionSourceThese items (LD1842-1877) were deposited with Sheffield Archives by the company in 1977. In December 1982 they were purchased from the liquidators (Thornton Baker of Sheffield), changing them from a revocable deposit to a purchase. Some of the earliest records of the firm were retained by the company when LD1842-1877 were deposited, but were later purchased from the liquidator. They were initially catalogued as MD6969-3998 but have now been merged with LD1842-1877.
