AdminHistoryExtant records (two volumes of minutes) show that the Brightside Liberal Association flourished between 1886 and 1916.

The Committee was originally called the Burngreave (Polling) District Committee. The President in 1886 was George Ridge and the Secretary was James Peck. Boundary changes led the Committee to change its name; the inaugural meeting of the Burngreave Ward Committee, for the newly-formed ward, was held at Burngreave Vestry Offices on Thur 25 Jul 1901.
