CustodialHistory	These documents were donated to, or purchased by Sheffield Libraries. There is no record of where they came from or at what date they were donated, other than a sparse accession register entry at nos. 1672 - 1682. It is possible they were purchased from Sir Thomas Phillipps' via Sotheby's in the 1890s. The accession register and the original typescript catalogues suggest that MD1 - MD233 were acquired this way.
