DescriptionThe deeds relate to property described in 1705 as the house in which Thomas Chappell, esquire, did live and die, and was bounded on the S.E. by Alsop Fields and on the N.W. by High Street. Mortgaged in 1698 by Chappell to William Sitwell; assigned (1705) to Joseph Banks who sold it in March 1720/21 to Thomas Young the younger, mercer, for £273 (at which date it was divided into several tenements).
