TitleBroadbent Family Deeds relating to property in Hartshead, Sheffield (later number 3 Hartshead)
DescriptionAbstract of title to this property, 1672-1783, with a copy of plan of the latter date attached; together with the relevant deeds up to 1743, but lacking the deed of conveyance by Broadbent’s trustees to John Turner in 1783. The property was originally purchased of William Hydes of Bristol, hardwareman, by Edward Roberts and Robert Allen in 1672 when it was described as a cottage in the Hartshead between the house of Anne Hydes…and a croft called Geoffrey Croft; conveyed by Girdler and Oakes in 1721 to Nicholas Broadbent, who (as appears from an agreement of 1728) was then about to pull down and rebuild the house.
