Description1. General summons to the parish officers to appear before the J.P.’s at Chesterfield, undated but c. 1720 and ditto to appear at Sheffield, undated. [2 items].

2. Presentments of the state of the church and parish by the churchwardens (1721, 1722), bundle of accounts etc. (6 items) relating to the repair of the church loft (1722), accounts (1764) and order for the sequestration of the profits of the rectory during a vacancy (1764) [11 items].

3. Some papers of the overseers of the poor including assessments for poor rate (1740, 1754, 1764) and payments by the overseers (1750-53). Some of the papers relate also to Hackenthorpe. [8 items].

4. Some constables’ papers including an assessment (1697) and summons to the constables (1698, 1716, 1733, 1736). Also a presentment from the constable of Spondon and one from the constable of Church Broughton (1747). [8 items].

5. A few highway papers including an assessment (1703), a summons (1708), summons and list of duties etc. (1757). [4 items].

6. Account of men and horses raised for the militia and train band, [undated] (18th cent?).

7. Notes on regulating of juries following act of parliament, 1730.

8. Faculty for Beighton Church, 1722.

9. Copy of will of Godfrey Morton, bequeathing £40 to poor of Beighton, [undated] (18th cent.).
