AdminHistoryJohn Lunn, wife Emma (nee Theaker) and children John, Charlotte, Richard, Miriam and Arthur emigrated to Australia from Sheffield in 1882/83. They travelled on the SS Melpomene which left Plymouth on the 14th Oct 1882 and arrived in Rockhampton, Queensland on 30th Jan 1883.

The family settled in the Maroochy district, and later at Nambour where John Lunn was an engineer, subsequently becoming manager of Nambour Sugar Mill. He died 17th Sep 1917 and Woombye, Queensland.

In the extract from his diary, John mentions going to Derby to see his brother Richard. Richard Lunn was art director at Royal Crown Derby Porcelain works, and lived at 102 Osmaston Road, Derby.
