'Sir, Mr Coke sometime since requested you to survey and value a small estate of mine at Stoney Middleton in Derbyshire. If you have done so, I shall be much obliged by your immediately sending your survey to him at Brookhill; if not I shall be extremely obliged by your completing it and sending it to him by the 24th instant. I also beg the favour of a line addressed to me at Lincolns Farm, without delay, and inform me whether I may expect it, as the time of my leaving London will depend on the information I receive from you.
