Maynard writes in favour of the rejection of nuclear bases and weapons; Thatcher writes back (Dec 1980, Mar 1981) stating that the Government would be strengthening defences/deterrence (both letters signed by Margaret Thatcher).
Correspondence re. 'the Gypsy Question' including a copy of the Sheffield Gypsy Support Group newsletter, Dec 1981 which includes strong comments on the actions of the Labour Group relating to gypsies.
Copy of Sheffield City Council's pamphlet on Sheffield's steel industry: 'Sheffield Says: Save Our Steel - No To Job Losses! No Cuts in Capacity! No Sale of Public Assets!' (foreword by Bill Michie, Chairman, Employment Committee, 20 Sep 1982) [photocopy, 17pp]. The Council formed an Employment Committee and Employment Department to coordinate Sheffield City Council actions to prevent further job losses in the city.
