Includes correspondence between Joan Maynard, John Cornwell (SYCC) and Shirley Summerskill about the detention of five members of the Afro Punk Dub Reggae group 'Steel An' Skin' (Emmanuel Tagoe, Daniel Seth Laryea, Larty Otoo, Sarah Quaye and Mercy Ahadzie) who were held at Harmandsworth Centre pending deportation for a visa technicality. It is noted that the deportation was halted, pending investigation, by Joan Maynard’s 'phonecall to the Home Office.
