| AdminHistory | The National Hospital Service Reserve was constituted under the provisions of the Civil Defence Act, 1948. It was discontinued as from 1 August 1968 on authority of the Ministry of Health Circular HM (68) 52.
Sheffield Area meetings were attended by representatives from the four hospital management committees, United Sheffield Hospitals, Sheffield Regional Hospital Board, the Ministry of Labour, the Civil Defence Corps and others.
