AdminHistoryThe School of Radiography was established by the merged Royal Sheffield Infirmary and Hospital in 1941. Prior to 1948 the School was manged by a sub-committee reporting to the Court of Management of the merged Royal Sheffield Infirmary and Hospital; after 1948 it was run by the United Sheffield Hospitals. The minutes record that it was a School on paper only, operating as it did from one small room within the Department of Radiology at the Royal Hospital, with students travelling around the other hospitals for training and practice. In 1973-1974 it was suggested that the School be re-established within Sheffield Polytechnic, but premises were later allocated within the new Weston Park Hospital, those originally allocated in the Hallamshire Hospital being too small.
