Description | The first register was kept under the 1853 County Asylums Act; the second under the Rules made by the Commissioners in Lunacy, 1890. Separate registers were to be kept by those asylums receiving both private and pauper patients. Entries include number (separate sequence for males and females) and date of admission, date of any previous admission, patient's name, age, marital status, occupation and place of abode, name of person chargeable, form and supposed cause of mental disorder, duration of existing attacks, and date of discharge, removal or death. Registers were signed from time to time by the Commissioners in Lunacy. |
