AdminHistoryThe Northern General Base Hospital, known as the 3rd Northern General Hospital, occupied the Teachers' Training College in Collegiate Crescent, Sheffield. The buildings were taken over and equipped for military purposes in August 1914. Very soon afterwards the hospital was expanded and numbers of beds were made available to it in Sheffield schools and hospitals, including 120 beds at Winter Street Hospital.
