In consideration of the marriage to be had between George, son of Richard, and Elizabeth, daughter of Nicholas, Richard covenants to convey to George Longden of Heaton (co. Nottingham), minster and brother of Richard, Thomas Mellow of Chappell in the Frith, schoolemaster, and other trustees, a messuage and 18 acres of land in Wormhill and Tunsteed to the use of Richard for his life and after his decease (provision being made for a jointure for Elizabeth, and portions for the three daughters of Richard) to the use of George, his son, and then to the lawfully begotten heirs of George and Elizabeth and then to the lawfully begotten heirs of George, his son, with a remainder to the right heirs of George, his son. Nicholas covenants to pay £25 in 3 portions to Richard, to take George and Elizabeth into his house after their marriage and maintain them and their children, or if Elizabeth die without issue to make a payment of 1/3 of all his goods to Richard or George his son, and if Richard Longden and Catherine his wife die before their son Edward reaches the age of 21 years, then Nicholas will maintain him.</p><p>Grant of even date.
