Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>Halmot of the manor of Ightenhill held at Burneley on Wednesday, 10th June, 1551 before Arthur Darcy, knight, chief steward. Richard Banester of Barnollesweke Coote surrendered 16 acres of land in Burneley in the occupation of Richard Bentham to Henry Banester, gentleman, William Barcroft of Barcroft, gentleman, Thomas Barcroft of Worstone and John Blakey of Colne, brother of Robert Blakey of the same, to the use of Robert Parker, son of John Parker of the Monke Hall, gentylman, and of James Grenewode, son of John Grenewode, for the life of Margaret, wife of John Blakey, formerly of the Newhall, but Richard Banester to occupy the land paying to Parker and Grenewode 26s. 8d. annual rent.</p>
