TitleDeed of agreement to suffer a recovery
Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>Wylliam Halsted of Wurstorn, gentleman, John Halsted his son, and Issabell, wife of John, with John Townley of Greys Inne, gentleman, and Lawrence Habrynsam of Habryngam (co. Lancashire), gentleman. All their lands, tenements, etc. in Barnoldyswyckcotes in Craven in the parish of Gylkyrke to be described as two meses, two gardens, two orchards, 60 acres of land, 20 acres of meadow, 30 acres of pasture, 20 acres of turbary, with the moiety of a cottage. And after the recovery John Townley and Lawrence Habrynsam to stand and be seized of half the property to the use of William for his life, and then to the use of John Halsted and his heirs; and to be seized of the other half of the property to the use of John and his wife Issabell for their lives or the longer liver of them, then to the use of William (son of John Halsted) and his heirs male, with a remainder to the use of the heirs of Issabell, and a final remainder to the use of John and his heirs.</p><p>Exemplification of recovery. 6th November, 1555.</p>
