Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>Queen Elizabeth to the escheator for the county of York. Recites an inquisition post mortem held after the death of Richard Banaster of Barnoldswicke Coates in Craven, gentleman, who died 9th February, 1576/7 seised of the capital messuage of Barnoldiswicke Coates in Craven held of the queen as 1/40th part of a knight&apos;s fee, and property in Cononley held of the queen in free socage as part of the manor of Newlande at an annual rent of 18d., and of other property not held from the queen, and recites the deed of settlement of 23rd October, 1573. The queen orders that Thomas, son and heir of Richard, who is of full age, should have seisin of 1/3 part of the property held from her by the aforesaid Richard at the time of his death on payment of a relief.</p>
