Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>Queen Elizabeth to the escheator for the county of York. Recites an inquisition post mortem held after the death of Ralph Bannester, gentleman, who died 11th January, 1587/88 seised of a capital messuage in Barnoldeswicke Cootes in Craven held of the Queen as 1/40th part of a knight&apos;s fee, of property in Barnoldswicke Cootes, Cononley, and Thorntone held in free socage as in the manor of Newland, and other property not held of the queen, and that the heir was Richard, son of Ralph, who was aged 10 years and 8 months. The Queen orders that Richard, now aged 21, should have livery of seisin of the property held of her by his father. For ½ mark.</p>
