Description | <head>Scope and Content</head><p>Richard Banester of Bernoldswick Coates, gentleman, to Francis Heber of Marton, gentleman, (a younger son of Thomas Heber of Marton, esquire) and Christopher Hartley of Barnoldswick, yeoman. The remainder of a term of 99 years in a watercorn mill in Bernoldswick with all appurtenances, soke and suit, etc. At a yearly rent to the King of 52s. 6d. and every tenth year an extra 52s. 6d. as a fine. Recites Letters Patent of 22nd February, 1557/8 leasing the mill to William Lister of Mydhope, gentleman, who bequeathed it to his son Bartholomew, who bequeathed it to Michael Lister, who assigned it to George Pollard, and an assignment of 20th November, 1607 by which Pollard assigned it to Banester.</p> |
