Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>William Bagshaw of Oakes, (co. Derby), esq. brother, heir and executor of Richard Bagshaw, late of Oakes, esquire, deceased, to Lords George, Frederick and John Cavendish, executors of Catherine, Duchess Dowager of Devonshire, deceased. In consideration of £9,200 advanced by the said Duchess Dowager in her lifetime, for paying off the debts of Richard Bagshaw; messuage and paper mill in Totley and Dore (tenant Jonathan Mitchell), a messuage in Bradway (tenant Ezra Biggin), closes etc. (and other property as in OD/199, below) for a thousand years, at a peppercorn rent.</p>
