Description<head>Scope and Content</head><p>William Drake of Barnoldswick Coates, esquire, and Jane Holt of Colne (co. Lancashire), widow of George Holt, late of the same, apothecary, deceased, also widow and executrix of Stephen Tempest, late of Kellbrook (Yorks.), yeoman, also deceased to John Welsh of Chorley (Lancashire) yeoman and Thomas Higson of Colne, yeoman (Welsh and Higson being nephews and heirs-at-law of Ann Beckwith deceased, who was the only surviving daughter and heir of Tempest and wife of William Beckwith of the City of ?[Yo]rk, silk mercer). Parcel of land called the Patefield in Earby in the parish of Thornton (Yorks.), for which Tempest paid the purchase money of £40 some time before his death, but no conveyance was made.</p>
