| Description | <head>Scope and Content</head><p>William Yates of Blackborne (co. Lancaster) with William Drake of Barlwicke (co. York); Oswald Mosley of Ancoats (co. Lancaster), George Toulnson of Stakes in Bolland (co. York) and Joseph Yates of Greys Inn. In consideration of the marriage between William Drake and Abigaill, daughter of William Yates, Yates will pay £1,500 to Drake as a marriage portion. Drake will convey to Mosley and others lands in Skertcoate and Southaurum and in the parish of Thorneton, to raise a jointure of £150; other provision concerning younger children and for preserving the whole inheritance in Yorkshire to a son of Drake by Abigail if one be living. If Abigail dies without children she shall have power to leave £300 by her will.</p> |
