Description | <head>Scope and Content</head><p>John Selyacke of Hasel Borough, esquire, to John Gyll of Lyghtwood, yeoman. Recites a deed of 23rd June, 1546 by which Thomas Denham of London, esquire, sold to John Selyacke the moiety of the manor of Norton. Now John Selyacke mortgages the moiety of a messuage occupied by John Gyll, and of another messuage, and of 3 closes called Morreslande, Jackefeld, and Cockhawe in the occupation of William Blythe, and also the moiety of a messuage in Lytle Norton in the occupation of John and Thomas Stevenson, and the moiety of a messuage in Colde Assheton occupied by John Stevenson with all the lands appertaining. For £44 10s. which is to be repaid on 20th January, next.</p><p>Quitclaim. John Selyok of Hasel Borough, esquire, to John Gill of Lyghtwoode. Recites the above deed, acknowledges the receipt of £20, and quitclaims all right and title to the moieties of the various properties. 31st August, 1546.</p><p>Bond. John Selyok of Hasilborough, esquire, to John Gill of Lightewoode, yeoman. In £40 to convey the other moiety of the manor of Norton (now in the possession of Thomas Babyngton of Dethycke, esquire) should he purchase it. 31 Aug 1546.</p> |
